Have A Safe Halloween

Trisha Kay Jasinski NEWSLETTER October 5, 2024 Haunted Halloween 2024   Everyone Be Safe, I will be out of town in Joliet/Oswego, and I will be in Washington for a short week I will be in Washington visiting my kids and their friends for five short days. I read Frankenstein and Dracula. Usually I don’t celebrate Halloween.  I have mixed emotions about it.  DELACEY is a main point in Frankenstein and I find it sometimes disgusting how authors and historians are able to predict shit before they happen. Anyways, Halloween Horror can be over already.  Not Interesting. Moving on from the Frankenstein text. Moving on from the Dracula text.  There are some take aways though, such as good, dearest, and bad. Or how one polluted thought can taint your entire life. Not to mention gender inequalities.  I have done some browsing into Halloween costumes and wigs. I will always remember my mom making me Halloween costumes.  I’ve always just store bought Hallow...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Image
Hi Readers!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Mine was amazing.  I spent it with my two children, Scarlette and Orlando.   We did a lot of activities such as swimming, jumping, reading, eating, watching movies visiting family, and just overall enjoying each others company. We went to an awesome airplane museum in Bolingbrook and it was 100 percent free.  For those interested there are flights for 18 years and younger.  I'm turning THIRTY in less than a month! Can't believe it. I wish I could for see how the next ten years will be and I definitely know I will be focused on writing and my health.  My twenties were beautiful! I was in a relationship and had two beautiful children.  I studied. I worked.  I was active and had lots of nice vacations.  My thirties will be single/divorced and spending a lot of fun time with my kids.  I started off the New Year with watching a lot of movies.  I saw Poor Thin...

Coffee Shops and Current Reads

Image
Hi All! Happy Sunday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I have stepped out of my comfort zone of the usual coffee shop I go to in Oswego called The Village Grind.  I have also tried the coffee shop called Grace Coffee Shop in Yorkville.  The new coffee shops I have tried are Graham's 318 Coffeehouse in Geneva and Green Joe Coffee Shop in Schaumburg. I will be on the quest for some other coffee shops to get me outside of the Oswego area for a while.   The current books I have finished are The Davinci Code by Dan Brown and Out At The Old Baseball Game by Bernie Bookbinder. They both were great reads. I have been taking a lot of book suggestions and will share what I am reading for those book lovers out there! There is still about a month left of summer! I will probably do a couple of nice walks while the weather is nice.  I am excited to get out to Washington to see my kids in October.  Stay tuned for my next post!  Love,  Trisha

August Writing

Hi Readers! I hope this blog post finds everyone well.  Those who are staying updated with me know that I have been going through a lot, however I am staying focused on writing.   My dad passed recently and I started writing more poetry to remember how beautiful life is.  I have been blessed to have a summer with my kids. We ate a lot and swam a lot! I am currently working as a teacher aid.  I have been teaching reading, math, science, etc. to elementary schoolers and middle schoolers. It has been a great opportunity to teach a class. I always wondered how it would be and now I am able to lead a class every now and then!  I will be volunteering at NAMI for at least the next year and am studying psychology. My next poetry book will be out soon.  Check out Pressed Impressions and Missed Mentions in the meantime!  With love, Trisha

The Right Path

Hi Readers! Winter is over and Spring is here! I'm so happy to have made it through Winter! I had enough going on to keep myself distracted from seasonal depression, which I was happy about. It feels good to set small goals for yourself and achieve them.  I have been still attending NAMI groups and hoping to start volunteering soon and I also completed The Search which was the parish renewal I was a part of.  I feel closer to God and I feel like I've taken role in Mental Health Advocacy. Those goals have been accomplished and now it may just become part of my routine. I ask myself how I can live closer to God everyday.  I also ask myself how can I be a better advocate for Mental Health everyday.  So this post, today, is going to be about careers. I have spent my twenties searching for the right career. I changed careers and jobs so many times, looking for the right one.  It is beginning to become stressful because I still haven't found the right fit as I ...
