Hurrah! Happy Saturday!

Image
Hi all and happy Saturday! I am in high spirits after finishing eleven miles on a path behind my house.  It is so conveniently right down the block and stretches for enough miles for me to train.  I've loved it! If there are any readers out there who would like to do an online tracking and checking in with runs let me know! I promised I would post some poetry from my online workshop. I have been revisiting and remembering very meaningful times and wanted to share for those who would like to read. We were asked to make a poem about meaningful objects.  I wrote about a stitched clown knitted for me:   Stitched clown – Gathered and collected yarn and string Old and rolled around, unused and set aside as boring Meant for more than a stranger storing Given to the younger, much better at adoring Aware of the dull mood and realizing no humor Avoiding the drama and escaping rumor Made to joke and make fun, while not knowing how Focused in on the stitch, scratch...

Friday Check-In To See Who Made It :)

Hi all! Thanks for checking in. I am so relieved to have made it to Friday after this week and after the fourth of July holiday weekend. On fourth of July we had an adventurous trip to Mount Saint Helen.  It was quite the site with the volcano and falls and camping sites along a lake.  We hope to return and pick a camping site there sometime again soon.  I had wanted to visit the volcano since seeing it in magazines and text books and in person it was even better than I had imagined. I'll post photographs tomorrow.  After viewing the volcano, I left with a sense of a restart.  Going into the week with larger hopes, I finished another free online class and signed up for a five day writer's work shop.  I feel as though the week was well worth my time. If you have any down time or free time on your hands, I would definitely recommend searching for free workshops online.  They are actually a great source and a chance to explore and test out an interest....

I came across a provoking prompt and remembered a specific moment that I could use as a way to combat a feeling that troubles people more often than it should..... Fear. The thought provoking question or prompt was: If fear wasn’t part of the equation, how would your life look different? I thought I would write a bit about this worry or feeling.  If anyone is regularly dealing with a sense of fear, I thought I would express sometimes how much of a distraction from true well being it is.  It is always a good reminder to break habits that sometimes form around fear alone. Fear…. Fear is sometimes can be an abstract and unreal concept in life. When I was in the Smokey Mountains in Gaitlinburg, Tennessee, my husband and I spontaneously decided to escape the city and forget the upcoming distance apart we predicted would be in the next coming up months. We traveled a few hours south to the mountains.   When we arrived we thought it would be thrilling to zip line throu...
